// The WEEKEND! I have never appreciated two days in a row off as much as I do right now. I absolutely LOVE my job, but the commute means that I leave at 6:40AM and don’t get home till 7 or 7:30 most nights. I’ve barely gotten anything done these last couple weeks, and I’m looking forward to having a couple days to catch up on sleep, blogging, schoolwork, and relaxing!
// Reading this post from Alicia on rediscovering herself and treating her body better was so inspiring. I’ve always been a pretty unhealthy eater, and my sneakers probably forget what the inside of a gym looks like, but since I’ve started working in an office I can see how much worse my eating habits have gotten. Plus, since I’m not waitressing anymore, I’m not as active as I have been for the last few years. Alicia and Nadine both have amazing tips on getting healthier – both mindfully, and physically.
// Becca asks the difficult blogger question of whether or not numbers matter, and I love her answer. This is a morally-loaded question that all of us bloggers deal with on more than one occasion, and you’ll see different kinds of advice on both ends. I love Becca’s matter-of-fact way of saying that yes, it matters, but it shouldn’t be the only thing that matters.
// Mad Men. I think I enjoy it as a study of the communicative behavior of 1950’s-era men and women, because I’m more fascinated by the incredibly insulting and derogatory language and behaviors than I am amused. Somehow, I can’t stop watching, so there must be some reason.
// This post on bad relationship advice from Katie. Yes, yes, and yes! Once you’ve been single for a few
months years, you start to hear the phrase “when you stop looking for it, it will come” a hundred different times in a hundred different variations. It. gets. old. And besides that, it’s not even realistic. Why, when we’re told to work for everything else in life, do we have this prevailing view as a society that the universe is going to reward our apathy regarding relationships with just that: a relationship? It’s totally ridiculous, and I’m with Katie that it’s awful advice.
So what about you? What are you loving this week – I love sharing!
